In hip-hop and rap, one of the most important aspects of the songs is the words. It is all about the meaning and the kind of message or story the artist is trying to convey to the listener. One artist who has emerged in the last 27 years who exemplifies this part of hip-hop, is George Watsky, or as he is more commonly known as, Watsky. Watsky, a progressive hip-hop artist, draws upon the roots and stylings of early and 90s hip-hop, while also adding contemporary social commentary into his poetic lyrics as one of the more thoughtful progressive hip-hop artists of the 21st century. Catch Wreck).† Within his song, Watsky’s raps highlight the white person’s role in the formation of this society, with lyrics such as â€Å"lynch trees have the same white limbs/ check out my arms, I look just like him.† While with another verse, Catch Wreck responds with lyrics such as â€Å"let’s you and I get one thing straight/ the game never been equal, ain’t no food on my plate/ I gave birth to this and you just took it and co-opted it and profited/ and packed it and wouldn’t give me half of it.† This back and forth between Catch Wreck and Watsky not only illustrates the divide in society and the growing racial tensions that has been accumulating for decades, but it also adds in the style from the roots of hip-hop, known as the dozens. As a near qualified student nurse, I lead this discharge process (while adhering to the trust discharge policy) under the vigil supervision of my mentor who was working with MDT (DH 2010). The member of MDT expected the safe discharge of the patient which is imperative since safety constitutes a key component of Maslows hierarchy of needs (Runyan 2008). Analyse Transformation theory is the leadership theory that supports my discharge plan. It was Suliman (2009) who proved that transformation theory is relatively more popular and successful in the healthcare sector. Transformation leaders tend to concentrate on the culture and learning experiences of the individuals and advocate shared responsibilities (Avolio and Bass 2001; Smith 2011). Avolio and Bass (2001) state that transformational leaders tend to raise the level of moral maturity of their followers. As per Stanley (2006), it is imperative that clinical leaders need to be equipped with clinical competence along with skills such as knowledge, empowerment, decision-making and effective communication. During my experience, when I was require to liaison with MDT, I acted as an active participant at the MDT meeting so as to discuss and gather all requisite information specific to each DLA of patient so as to determine how to get the patient discharged to home in a safe and secure manner. Despite this increased suicide rate, depression inthis age group is greatly underdiagnosed and leads to seriousdifficulties in school, work and personal adjustment which may oftencontinue into adulthood. How prevalent are mood disorders inchildren and when should an adolescent with changes in mood beconsidered clinically depressed? Brown (1996) has said the reasonwhy depression is often over looked in children and adolescents isbecause children are not always able to express how they feel. Sometimes the symptoms of mood disorders take on different formsin children than in adults. Adolescence is a time of emotional turmoil,mood swings, gloomy thoughts, and heightened sensitivity. It is atime of rebellion and experimentation. Blackman (1996) observedthat the challenge is to identify depressive symptomatology whichmay be superimposed on the backdrop of a more transient, butexpected, developmental storm. Therefore, diagnosis should notlay only in the physicians hands but be associated with parents,teachers and anyone who interacts with the patient on a daily basis. Unlike adult depression, symptoms of youth depression are oftenmasked. Instead of expressing sadness, teenagers may expressboredom and irritability, or may choose to engage in risky behaviors(Oster ; Montgomery, 1996). Mood disorders are oftenaccompanied by other psychological problems such as anxiety(Oster ; Montgomery, 1996), eating disorders (Lasko et al.,1996), hyperactivity (Blackman, 1995), substance abuse(Blackman, 1995; Brown, 1996; Lasko et al., 1996) and suicide(Blackman, 1995; Brown, 1996; Lasko et al., 1996; Oster ;Montgomery, 1996) all of which can hide depressive symptoms. The signs of clinical depression include marked changes in moodand associated behaviors that range from sadness, withdrawal, anddecreased energy to intense feelings of hopelessness and suicidalthoughts. Depression is often described as an exaggeration of theduration and intensity of normal mood changes (Brown 1996). Key indicators of adolescent depression include a drastic change ineating and sleeping patterns, significant loss of interest in previousactivity interests (Blackman, 1995; Oster ; Montgomery, 1996),constant boredom (Blackman, 1995), disruptive behavior, peerproblems, increased irritability and aggression (Brown, 1996). Blackman (1995) proposed that formal psychologic testing may behelpful in complicated presentations that do not lend themselveseasily to diagnosis. For many teens, symptoms of depression aredirectly related to low self esteem stemming from increasedemphasis on peer popularity. For other teens, depression arisesfrom poor family relations which could include decreased familysupport and perceived rejection by parents (Lasko et al., 1996). Oster ; Montgomery (1996) stated that when parents arestruggling over marital or career problems, or are ill themselves,teens may feel the tension and try to distract their parents. Thisdistraction could include increased disruptive behavior,self-inflicted isolation and even verbal threats of suicide. So how canthe physician determine when a patient should be diagnosed asdepressed or suicidal? Brown (1996) suggested the best way todiagnose is to screen out the vulnerable groups of children andadolescents for the risk factors of suicide and then refer them fortreatment. Some of these risk factors include verbal signs ofsuicide within the last three months, prior attempts at suicide,indication of severe mood problems, or excessive alcohol andsubstance abuse. Many physicians tend to think of depression as anillness of adulthood. In fact, Brown (1996) stated that it was only inthe 1980s that mood disorders in children were included in thecategory of diagnosed psychiatric illnesses. In ac tuality, 7-14% ofchildren will experience an episode of major depression before theage of 15. An average of 20-30% of adult bipolar patients reporthaving their first episode before the age of 20. The Persian Wars A long time ago Croesus the king of Lydia took over the Greek colonies on the east coast of Asia Minor (Turkey). Croesus was a kind and fair ruler so the Greeks did not really mind. But around 546 BC King Croesus and his empire was overthrown by Cyrus the Great who was Persian. About fifty years later Asia Minor revolted against Persia. The rebellion was assisted by Athens. The rebellion was successful. After the rebellion had stopped Darius I took complete control over Asia Minor. Darius sent tyrants to rule over all Greek city states except Athens and Sparta refused to accept the tyrants. After Darius took rule the Ionian city states rebelled another time. Darius took this as a personal insult and sent troops in to destroy Athens. Athens beat the Persians whose army was almost three times the size of the Athenian army at the famous Battle of Marathon. The battle was fought on the Plains of Marathon outside of Athens. Darius' successor Xerxes I brought together the largest army of ancient history. In 480 BC Xerxes led his troops to the narrow passes of Thermopylae. In this battle several thousand soldiers led by the Spartan leader Leonidas I fought against the Spartans. A Greek traitor told the Persians a way to get around the Greek forces and enter the pass through their flank. The Persians did so and annihilated the Greek forces from the rear. There was nothing left between the Persians and Athens so the Persians plundered and destroyed the abandoned city. The next battle that took place was when the Persian fleet tried to pursue the Greek fleet at the Battle of Salamis. The Persians did not stand a chance in that battle and lost. All the Persian forces left in Greece were defeated a year later at the Battle of Plataea and Greece won it's independence.

(Balasubramanian 1994, 29; Immonen 1998, 14) These are the prominent definitions given for the concept of product placements by academicians in the past. The pertinent points that relate to product placements in these definitions are that a) its used in entertainment programs/productions b) its paid for by the brands involved. Entertainment mediums like television and radio have long been targeted by advertisers to pitch their products in the mindset of the consumers. Initially these took the form of Spots on these mediums between the programs. They were specialized productions in themselves whose whole purpose was to advertise these products. However with time this method started getting increasingly cluttered. First there was an inherent mental switching off by the viewers during the advertising. The viewers paid little or no attention during the breaks of the program. Morever with technological advent, viewers had the option to switch to another channel, both for television and radio, known as the phenomenon of zapping. Product placements presented a way out of this problem of zapping. The appearance of the products is incorporated as a part of the program itself. Therefore there is no chance of the viewer leaving it for something else. Therefore when they use products on screen it creates a desire among the viewers to own the product. Examples are the high end automobiles used in the Bond franchise over the years. This works very well for products like apparel or accessories because of the perception of good looks attached with the stars on screen. Ray ban has extensively been placed in movies over the years. â€Å"Alex! †¦..Alex! Where are you?† roared Mike running around the desert. He heard loud footsteps coming towards him, they were getting closer†¦ closer but before he could turn around and get a glimpse of the person, he found his legs running again! He ran rapidly. There are different examples in the Olympics, which deal with racist issues. Stacking, centrality and stereotyping are just three. Stereotyping is defined as when the athletes are said to be good or bad at certain sports due to their race or ethnicity. An example of the stereotyping is that â€Å"white men can't jump†. Stacking is where players are put into positions and sports based on their ethnic background. An example of stacking is the North Americans in the marathons. A linked theory is called centrality; this is where the dominant group in society does the dominant role in a team or sport, (in the UK and USA this tends to be WASP's (White Anglo Saxon Protestants)). An example of centrality is the Olympic Committee being mostly white. Every race is stereotyped where people label a group of people as all having the same image or characteristics for example people say that black people are faster at sprinting than white people. This isn't a racist comment as it is the truth. Scientists have found that Athletes of West African descent which include most African American, Caribbean and black British athletes have a physique that is suited to explosive events, requiring sprinting and jumping. Such athletes possess what biologists call a mesomorphic physique with bigger, more visible muscles including a larger chest. Their muscles contain a higher proportion of fast-twitch fibres than do whites or East Africans. Athletes of West African descent also possess less body fat, a higher centre of gravity, narrower hips, and higher levels of testosterone in their blood. There are myths that are formed based on this information that isn't true like ‘Black men can't swim'. These myths can lead to putting a person off a certain race from entering the Olympics. They may start the particular sport because of the stereotype. However, there is also the negative stereotype that people will not take up a certain sport as they are channelled towards certain sports due to their ethnic background or race. They also might want to take up a sport that they haven't seen anyone form their racial background competing and therefore will not take up that sport. There is a lot of over representation at the moment but only in specific sports, for example there are lots of Afro-Caribbean's competing in boxing and sprinting, Asians competing in badminton and hockey, and lastly the Far East compete mostly in table tennis and gymnastics. There has always been racism in the Olympics. One of the biggest issues was in 1936 at the Berlin games. Jesse Owens, one of the greatest track and field athletes of all times came to the Games holding two world records. In all four events, Owens either equalled the existing Olympic record or broke world records. He went home with four gold medals. His three other African Americans teammates also won Olympic medals. But Hitler refused to recognize the achievements of Owens and his â€Å"black auxiliaries† as he called them. Hitler walked out of the stadium when the time came to congratulate and present them with their well-won medals. He did not want to shake hands with black people who he considered inferior to his Aryan race. In another case of racism in the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, two African American sprinters, Tommy Smith and John Carlos raised a black-gloved fist (the Black power salute) while on the victory stand to protest U.S. racial policies, causing acts of hooliganism and fighting among the Americans in the stadium. Both athletes were expelled from the Games and they were sent home like criminals. Carlos claimed that â€Å"Ours was not a political act; it was a moral act-and that's all right.† Also at these Games was the expulsion of South Africa due to the Apartheid, which has also been a major factor in Olympic history. They were not allowed to compete in the Olympics from 1964 to 1992 due to the discrimination between Black and White races. This showed that strong racist issues such as these were not being tolerated, the Olympics were starting to reflect world union, and everyone is equal. It caused major problems in the Montreal games 1976 because many African nations boycotted the games. They were in protest at New Zealand entering, because the New Zealand rugby team, the ‘All Blacks', had toured South Africa, where apartheid was taking place. Finally though in 1992 South Africa abolished Apartheid and was allowed back into the Barcelona games. As time as gone on roles of black people have changed. Herodotus suggests that Xerxes selected Artemisia to lead a squadron to embarrass the Greeks, and indeed, when they heard about it, the Greeks offered a reward of 10,000 drachmas (about three years wages for a workman) for capturing Artemisia. No one succeeded in claiming the prize. After winning the battle at Thermopylae in August of 480 BCE, Xerxes sent Mardonius to talk to each of his naval commanders separately about the upcoming battle of Salamis. Artemisia was the only one who advised against a sea battle, suggesting that Xerxes instead wait offshore for what she saw as the inevitable retreat or attack the Peloponnese on shore. Battle of Salamis During the battle, Artemisias found her flagship was being chased by an Athenian vessel and had no chance of escape. She rammed a friendly vessel which was commanded by the Calyndians and their king Damasithymos; the ship sank with all hands. The Athenian, confused by her actions, assumed she was either a Greek ship or a deserter, and left Artemisias ship to chase others. Had the Greek commander realized who he was chasing, and recalled the price on her head, he would not have changed course. No one from the Calyndian ship survived, and Xerxes was impressed at her nerve and daring, saying My men have become women, and my women, men. After the failure at Salamis, Xerxes abandoned his invasion of Greece- and Artemisia is credited with persuading him to make this decision. As a reward, Xerxes sent her to Ephesus to take care of his illegitimate sons.   Beyond Herodotus That is all that Herodotus had to say about Artemisia. Other early references to Artemisia include the 5th century CE Greek physician Thessalus who spoke of her as a cowardly pirate; and the Greek playwright Aristophanes, who used her as a symbol of a strong and uppity warrior woman in his comic plays Lysistrata and Thesmophoriazusae, equating her with the Amazons.   Later writers were generally approving, including Polyaenus, the 2nd century CE Macedonian author of Stratagems in War, and Justin, the 2nd century Roman empire historian. Photius, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinopole, described a legend depicting Artemisia as having fallen hopelessly in love with a younger man from Abydos, and jumping off a cliff to cure the unrequited passion. Whether her death was as glamorous and romantic as that described by Photius, she was probably dead when her son Pisindelis took over the rule of Halicarnassus. Archaeological evidence of Artemisias relationship with Xerxes was discovered in the ruins of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus by British archaeologist Charles Thomas Newton when he excavated there in 1857. The Mausoleum itself was built by Artemisia II to honor her husband Mausolus between 353–350 BCE, but the alabaster jar is inscribed with the signature of Xerxes I, in Old Persian, Egyptian, Babylonian, and Elamite.  The presence of this jar in this location strongly suggests it was given by Xerxes to Artemisia I and passed down to her descendants who buried it at the Mausoleum.
